4 Poetry film festivals
We have had poetry films accepted recently for four festivals in April and May 2023.
The first was Llanto congelado (Frozen Cry), which was selected for JÁ Poetry Film Competition in Lisbon, Portugal. The screening took place on Wednesday 12 April in the program 'Separation & Belonging' and our film was one of the 'Top Ten Finalists'. The festival is available to watch for free online at fest2023.jait.pt/poetry-film-gallery/
Verse meets visuals in Cadence Video Poetry Festival at Northwest Film Forum, Seattle —in-person Apr. 27–30; online Apr. 27 – May 7— includes our film A-Dentro, made during a creative poetry film workshop as part of the ONCE Foundation's Biennial of Contemporary Art on the theme of 'Woman and Disability'. Over three days the participants wrote poems and then developed one of these, A-Dentro, by Dayana Jiménez, for the screen, creating sounds, the voices, and the images together.
The festival features more than 50 video poems from artists around the world! Tickets are sliding scale and available now: bit.ly/cadence2023. A-Dentro will be shown in the program A tune to contain all your revolt.
Then on 6 May our film La exposición (The Exhibition) is being shown in the FilmArte Festival in Madrid! The festival is one night only on 6 May at 20:00h in the cinema Artistic Metropol, Calle de las Cigarreras, 6, 28005 Madrid, (Metro: Embajadores). See event details in FilmArte Facebook and you can see the program with trailers in The Exhibition in FilmArte
And finally, on 27 May, we have two pieces in the Nudo Festival in Barcelona. Vértigo and Mom Asks Me to Write Her a Poem About the Sky will be shown in the screening on Saturday 27 May at at 16:15h in C.C. Pati Llimona (Barrio Gótico). More details on festivalnudo.com
