Poetry film in Papaioea

Screening in Palmerston North City Library.

I was transported by the magic of film to New Zealand to present the poetry film programme 'Poesía sin fronteras/Poetry Without Borders' at the Papaioea Festival of the Arts, on 19 February 2021, in the Palmerston North City Library. It was a programme of poetry film inspired by poetry from across Latin America and curated by Dave Bonta of Moving Poems which we adapted to fit the programme. We also presented the World Premiere of our latest work Llanto Congelado featuring Colombian poet Lilián Pallares.

(The above image is a photomontage as there weren't any photos taken during the projection itself. Thanks to Bradley Boniface for photos of the event.)

At the end of January 2021, after snow and freezing temperatures in Madrid we had an unseasonal 17ºC and took advantage to film my introduction to the screening in Matadero Madrid where Lilián and I had an arts residency.

'Poesía sin Fronteras / Poetry without Borders' featured in a double-bill alongside local poets Marolyn Krasner, Charlie Pearson and Helen Lehndorf in 'From the 4410 to the 4412'. We wish we could have been there in person!
